Watch and style photography: August Travels with a Mako 3 on the Wrist and a Linen Jacket

Here are some pictures from my August (2020) travels with my Mako3 watch, which some also call Kamasu for some reason, also featuring my BR mini houndstooth linen jacket, one of its last outings this season I believe.

For this photo set, was using a Sony rx100 m2 on a tripod remote-controlled with a Sony wifi app on an iphone.

Ahoy, there!

Watch Photography: From the Bottom of the Oceans - Neptune Vostok Amphibian

Watch photography in quick photos, no props, no lighting, using a Sony RX100 m2 and high ISO 1600, 3200...

My watch collection has a new addition in the shape of this Vostok Amphibia Neptune, or just Neptune.

This is a proper Vostok factory Neptune as opposed to Meranom's Neptune which may have better detailing especially on the dial but is also twice as expensive.

Counting this Neptune as a variant of the Amphibia, this makes it already the fifth post-Soviet Amphibia in my collection (see the collection listing on the right).

The bezel is something to like, though it's bi-rotational and doesn't click.

People have been complaining about bracelets on Neptunes, so be warned. Me, I found no major issues with mine, except that it is on the short side, any thicker wrist would require additional links.

Neptune (Latin: Neptūnus [nɛpˈtuːnʊs]) is the god of freshwater, the sea and horses in Roman religion. He is the counterpart of the Greek godPoseidon.

There is even a serial number on the back like on limited edition watches.

First impressions are entirely positive.

In the dark.

Diverse (not so) divers.

And all over again but in order of unboxing.

The set.

Still Life: Canned Fish and Watches

In still life photography, here are some pictures of tins and watches (scroll down).

Canned fish from Portugal.

1943 sardines... there is something to read on the tin as well.

Mackerel is on the right.

Mako has run down him some lunch - won't go hungry today... or maybe it was yesterday.

Some fish tins from Portugal and the watch of the day itself which is one of my newer additions to collection - my Mako XL.

And the tins are quite fancy, especially the one bearing the name of 1943 and quoting a collection of some selected events that took place in 1943 (a very eventful year obviously) - Portugal ceased a base to the Allies and Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison and Robert De Niro were all born in 1943.

Общепит: Португальские рыбные консервы: Португальские рыбные консервы. Слева - сардины, называются 1943 - в 1943 году Португалия сдала Азорскую базу союзникам, а также Мик Дж...
