Still Life: Richard Baker

In my art appreciation, here is today's spotlight and it's on Richard Baker the painter who was called to my attention today for the first time.

Pink pearl (?), 2006

This film study murmurs to me in hushed tones - Shade, 2007

But especially, Tray Gray 2006, speaks volumes to me

Actually I am an artist too and have produced thousands of still-life works of art... but only using the medium of photography.

Evidence of which one can find on this very blog.

Getty Images Then and Now 1936 and 2023: British Royals in Germany

Don't you just love it that Getty Images basically has not changed as have (not) their subjects: British Royals in Germany - a little bit of picture analysis from me.

Again, don't you just love it.

Time passes but Gettyimages stays the same... and so do the visitors and their hosts.

Body language looks remarkably similar too.

And now let's turn attention to sartorial matters, in which I am quite an expert, even though I say it myself.

Who's about to feel or fondle some low hanging fruit?

This suit on Charles seems the best of the lot - lots of drape, cozy, looking broken in and comfortably lived in.

While steinmeier's blue job is just no good.

Also note, a combo of three stripes which Charles seems to get away with easy but maybe an opportunity lost to add a forth stripe in the square.

Hopefully, everything was all right re socks.
