On Volga Embankment at Dubna

Strolling along an August 2022 embankment at Dubna, Russia, looking at the Volgo-Don 5061 on the river Volga, largest in Europe, fifth largest in Russia, a kind of river ship or self-propelled barge.

And here are some views of the embankment, from which it was spotted.

Autumn Photo Travel and Seeing Nadia Leger Portrait Mosaics

Autumn Photo Travel with an old Sony RX100 m2 and Seeing Nadia Leger Portrait Mosaics

Another autumn travel trip, aka business trip, to the city of Dubna somewhere not far from Moscow, Russia, just came to pass.

During some free time, some photos were quickly taken, dozens of them in fact, so here they are, starting with these beautiful mosaic portraits of famous people, mainly Russians but not exclusively, by the renowned Russian born French artist Nadia Léger, aka Nadia Khodasevich (Grabowski) Léger, about whom you can read in the linked wikipedia entry.

Dmitry Shostakovitch is above, and the others are very recognizable also.

Leo Tolstoy, of course.

Poet Mayakovsky.

These are the 10 mosaic portraits that are in the alley in front of the Mir Culture Center in Dubna.

The other five are on the opposite side.

This escapes me.

Composer Tchaikovsky.

Maxim Gorky.

 More after the jump.
