Downtown Moscow At Night

Some pictures from a November 2021 photoshoot, I think it was, out and about at night in Moscow on the New Arbat.

The destination is a Chinese food restaurant called (in translation) Chinese News.

It's on the New Arbat where we frequently are.

It was when we actually went to this restaurant and where I specifically had a Beijing Opera cocktail and a Peking Duck dish, very tasty too.

On entering you are greeted by a replica Terracotta Soldier.

From the menu.

In the restaurant.

Beijing Opera cocktail, for more follow the link.

Chinese news.

Terracotta Solider-like Statue

Here is a Terracotta Soldier-like statue at a recessed alcove in some Moscow Chinese food restaurant.

Here is a report from the restaurant.

In my restaurants today: a Beijing Opera cocktail and Peking Duck.

Beijing Opera cocktail, it's rum based, tasty but one isn't enough for much effect, just a hint of something pleasant.

And half a Peking Duck with garnishes and pancakes.

My Chinese restaurant going disguise.

Not much info online about a cocktail called Beijing Opera, could be some new creation by the restaurant so here is composition.

And like I said it's rum based but better drunk in multiples for it to really work, at least three to five per Hemingway.

Beer Photography: Eric the Red Beer Restaurant

Here is more of my eating out in Moscow photography using a Sony RX100 M2.

In another installment of my long but slow running Eating Out Moscow aka My Restaurants and also Beer Exploration series, here is a mainly photographic report(age) of some beers consumed for lunch on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Moscow's famed Eric the Red Pub-Restaurant, and namely the instance of it which is located on the Old Arbat.

Beer and snacks for lunch.

Beer # 1 was a pint of tap Plan B Kovboi Malboro (Cowboy Marlboro) IPA on the recommendations of the barkeep, and I have to say that I liked it well enough - I have had a lot of IPA beers this past year and think this one to be above quality average.

Plan B Kovboi Malboro (Cowboy Marlboro) is a Russian brewed IPA by Plan B.

Taps.

Actually there are 3 stories but I never went beyond the ground level and not far from the door either.

To eat, ordered something called Beer Set, including fries, wings, fish chips, cheese pastries, three dips, salted and fired almond and a salty pretzel.

For Beer No. 2 went for cherry and namely a pint of Jaws Cherry Swing, the only cherry beer they had on tap, and I liked it well above average and later even took another one of the same.

Jaws Cherry Swing is a Russian craft cherry fruit beer by Jaws Brewery, of Penza Region, Russia.

Lunch is going on.

Interior views.

And here is Beer # 3 which is more of Beer # 2!

Hard Rock Cafe Moscow Photography.

Here is a photo reportage from Hard Rock Cafe Moscow done with a Sony RX-100 II and a Canon Ixus 185.

Moscow's Hard Rock Cafe!

Sat on the first floor.

My order was one Java Lava Burger with Onions Fries on the side and three cocktails: Hurricane, Bahama Mama and Pomegranate Mule, also some bottled Evian with an ice cube filled glass.

Hurricane, which I liked best of the three cocktails and it seemed a little stronger but overall I didn't find much difference in taste among the tree cocktails that I ordered whatever that means.

Java Lava Burger

Not too bad, not McDonald's, that's for sure, the meet patty seemed natural but overall it didn't impress me as particularly fresh or as if it had just been made for me.

But I thought it looked good, 3/5.

The cocktail is already Bahama Mama.

You definitely eat this one with knife and fork as it is too big to hold in your hands and let alone to take a bite off, and it would be gross if you tried.

Pomegranate Mule.
