Still Life Photography: My House of Bogart (Scents)

In still life photography, here is the state of the House of Bogart in my toilet cupboard subsequent to the new arrivals of One Man Shows.

 

Left to right: One Man Show Original, One Man Show Emerald Edition, One Man Show Ruby Edition, One Man Show Oud Edition.

Although I am a frequent user of scents nowadays - each time I go out - I have some library of scents and these might actually last me a lifetime (what's left of it which is still plenty).

Being so multicolored, these new editions make for good photography (which is beyond my reach still) but they are never as good as the originals.

Wore Oud Edition a couple of times and I have to report that, after a promising beginning with what seemed for a while like notes of pine in the style of Encre Noire, it is not that great and gets worse with time, can be worn but that's about it.

Copy Photography on Arbat Street, Moscow

 More of my chance copy photography experiments, this time again on the Arbat in Moscow, Russia.

Copy photography is what I (and maybe others) call using a camera to reproduce a work of art which could be a photograph itself or a painting.

And especially reproduce it in such a way that it can almost stand on its own.

With a modern high quality camera, the results can be quite fetching.

Even my olde Sony rx100 m2 does the trick.

See? Not to shabby to pass for my own ... but using photographic posters this time from a Mexico200 exhibition.

Terracotta Solider-like Statue

 Here is a Terracotta Soldier-like statue at a recessed alcove in some Moscow Chinese food restaurant.

 In my restaurants today: a Beijing Opera cocktail and Peking Duck.

Beijing Opera cocktail, it's rum based, tasty but one isn't enough for much effect, just a hint of something pleasant.

And half a Peking Duck with garnishes and pancakes.

My Chinese restaurant going disguise.

Not much info online about a cocktail called Beijing Opera, could be some new creation by the restaurant so here is composition.

And like I said it's rum based but better drunk in multiples for it to really work, at least three to five per Hemingway.

Photo Travel: Moscow's Oldest Tram Stop

Here is Moscow's oldest tram (or street car) stop pavilion somewhere in the north of Moscow.

It is now famous for being the oldest tram stop structure in Moscow - installed in its present cast-iron from in 1936 - although this tram stop has existed since 1890, that is, long before the reign of the current idiot mayor of Moscow mr. Sobianin.

The pavilion has a central section for waiting passengers and houses a coffee shop and a fruit and vegetable store.
